International School of Zug and Luzern - Laura

Updated: Jun 29, 2021

From 2008 – 2018, I served as the Director of Community Relations at the International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL).

ISZL is highly regarded non-profit day school serving the international community of Central Switzerland. The student body consists of over 1'200 students from over 50 different nationalities, ages 3 to 18 years across two campuses.

Mary joined the Community Relations Department in 2016 as the Marketing Coordinator, having previously worked in a community-facing administrative role in the School Office. At that time the Community Relations team was responsible for the successful management of the school’s external relations including Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Admissions, Community Engagement, Advancement and Fundraising.

In her role as Marketing Coordinator, Mary was an integral and highly valued member of the department. During the 3 years in which we worked together, Mary led and initiated a number of important, strategic projects including:

  • A complete refresh of the ISZL website encompassing all aspects of the design, user experience and content. The resulting website continues to receive a high level of positive recognition.

  • Coordination and project management of ISZL’s two annual flagship publications -the Annual Report and the Community Magazine.

  • Development and implementation of a highly successful Early Years Marketing campaign and connected Open Day events.

  • Initiated and lead a whole school marketing audit and the development of ISZL’s first strategic marketing plan.

In addition to the projects outlined above, Mary took day to day responsibility for all marketing tasks as well as supporting other departmental and whole school initiatives and projects. Additionally, Mary was responsible for all aspects of ISZL branding, including ensuring brand integrity.

Mary demonstrated a strong creative eye, she was precise, committed and highly organised. She was an effective project manager with the necessary technical skill set to ensure projects were completed successfully. As a team member Mary was engaged, supportive, well liked and valued.

It was a pleasure working with Mary during our three years together and she has my sincere thanks and gratitude for her valued contribution towards the success of our department and the school during this time.
